Youth

St. Stephens has one Youth Group, 5th-12th grade.  They meet by Zoom on Thursdays and meet from 10:30 am and join the service at communion during the 10:30 am Sunday Church service. Once a quarter our group does an outside activity such as bowling, movies, holiday parties, games, etc.

Sydney Runyan, Youth Director and Matthew Anderson,  Assistant Youth Director continually plan exciting programs  and special events.  Meetings are held in our Youth Room on the lower level.

The Youth Group has a "closed" Facebook Group, Twitter, monthly newsletters, and weekly emails for updates and communications.

For information on the Youth Group and their activity, contact the Parish Office or email sydney@ststephensec.org.

Acolytes
What is an acolyte?
Acolytes are those folks sitting up front during worship wearing the  white robes.  They are the silent leaders of worship, taking care of the transition points of worship.  They lead processions, begin and end the service, and take care of other details.

Why would you want to be one?
Acolytes get a front row view of the worship experience.  As an acolyte, you know what is happening and why.  Acolytes are an important part of the Sunday morning event because they keep things moving smoothly–no awkward pauses when there are good acolytes around!

Who can be an acolyte?
If you are able to hold the cross, you can be a St. Stephen’s acolyte.  And yes, adults are also welcome to join the ranks!  We teach you everything you need to know–not only what we do, but why and when.  Acolytes are scheduled to serve on Sundays at both the 8:30 am and 10:30am, usually once a month.  They also serve at special worship services, and those may require extra rehearsals.  Acolyte practice is scheduled at times on an irregular basis.
