Youth

St. Stephen's has two youth groups that meet on alternate weeks on the lower level in the Youth Room.  Both groups have a meal provided.

- Youth Group for 6th through 12th grades, meets from noon to 2 pm during the academic school year (September through May).

- Youth DnD Group meet from noon to 4 pm.

Special events may be planned during the summer.

For information on the Youth Groups and their activity, contact the Parish Office, 316 634-2513 or email [email protected]

Acolytes

What is an acolyte?
Acolytes are those folks sitting up front during worship wearing the white robes.  They are the silent leaders of worship, taking care of the transition points of worship.  They lead processions, begin and end the service, and take care of other details.

Why would you want to be one?
Acolytes get a front row view of the worship experience.  As an acolyte, you know what is happening and why.  Acolytes are an important part of the Sunday morning event because they keep things moving smoothly–no awkward pauses when there are good acolytes around!

Who can be an acolyte?
If you are able to hold the cross, you can be a St. Stephen’s acolyte.  And yes, adults are also welcome to join the ranks!  We teach you everything you need to know–not only what we do, but why and when.  Acolytes are scheduled to serve on Sundays at both the 8:30 am and 10:30am, usually once a month.  They also serve at special worship services, and those may require extra rehearsals.
