Vestry

The legal governing and decision-making body of a parish church, consisting of the rector and elected lay representatives.  Its duties include calling the rector, approving the budget, making policy, and approving expenditures.  Our Vestry members are elected by the congregation at each Annual Meeting. In addition, the vestry has a Senior Warden and a Junior Warden.  Often vestry members are also heads of parish committees.  Each parish chooses its own way of structuring its vestry.  St. Stephen's vestry meets monthly either in person or by Zoom.
