John Moore Myers
January 24, 1946 - January 29, 2025

John was born in Mechanicsburg, OH on January 24th, 1946, to Louis and Dorthey Myers. John spent his childhood in Springfield, OH and went on to graduate from Bowling Green State University (BA). He was accepted to graduate school at the University of Kansas, which is where he met his future wife, Nancy.

John and Nancy were married in 1971, a marriage that lasted 50 years. He was known in Wichita primarily by his 1970's & 80's radio personality John "Hooter" Myers and went on to a long career in the Masonic organization becoming Master of the Lodge and Secretary Treasurer. He was also involved with the Shrine and various philanthropic organizations.

John devoted much of his retirement years volunteering with the Commemorative Air Force announcing airshows and reenacting General MacArthur.

John passed away peacefully on January 29th, 2025. He
was preceded in death by Nancy and is survived by two sons David and Edward (Ted) Myers and granddaughter Lauren Myers.

Donations may be made in John's memory in support of the Susan Gaskill Memorial Playground. In memory of John's participating in the Commemorative Air Force, a two-seated airplane ride will be dedicated in his honor as part of the playground.
